Public Servants Join the Zero Hunger Trust Fund in ‘We Can’ Food Drive

Celebrating Nine Years of Impact with a Community-Focused Initiative 

As the Zero Hunger Trust Fund continues its 9th anniversary celebrations under the theme “Nine Years of Impact, Giving Back, Growing Forward,” the Zero Hunger Trust Fund (ZHTF) held Food Drive themed “We Can, Together We Can Nourish our Community”, for elderly beneficiaries, reaffirming its commitment to eliminating hunger and uplifting vulnerable communities. 

In a powerful demonstration of unity, this initiative was speared by the staff of the Fund in collaboration with staff of Ministries and Departments, including the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture; the Ministry of Education; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Consumer Affairs; Ministry of Legal Affairs, and the Departments Telecommunication, Science and Technology, Industry, and the National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority. 

Staff from the Fund, led the distribution of food packages to several ZHTF elderly beneficiaries across the country as part of the ‘giving back, to provided immediate relief to families in need and promote food security. It also highlighted the value of multi-agency cooperation in addressing food security challenges. 

 

 

The ZHTF CEO applauded the staff of the Fund, the Ministries, Departments and Organisations for this initiative and thank them for their generosity. She stated that “…the elderly are among the more vulnerable in the population and supporting them this way is ensuring their needs are med. She also stated that “this drive is more than a response to need—it’s a celebration of solidarity. Together with our partners, we’re making sure that no one is left behind.”  

The “We Can – Together We Can Nourish Our Community” Food Drive reflects the spirit of collaboration and community empowerment that has defined the ZHTF’s journey over the past nine years. Since its inception, the Fund has made significant strides in tackling food insecurity, supporting sustainable development, and fostering resilience among the most vulnerable. 

As the ZHTF looks forward to the next phase of its journey, it remains steadfast in its mission: to ensure that every Vincentian has access to nutritious food and the opportunity to live a healthy, dignified life.
