National Coordinating Facilitators (NCFs) are playing an essential role in implementing the EU-CaN Cultivating Futures: Empowering Youths for a Food Secure Region project across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Grenada and Dominica.
The organisations serving as NCFs are:
- Saint Lucia: Rotary Satellite Club of Saint Lucia Sunset
- Grenada: 4-H Grenada/National Leaders Council
- Dominica: 4-H Dominica
- Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: Zero Hunger Trust Fund
Each NCF brings valuable local knowledge, trusted relationships and an understanding of its country’s educational, agricultural and community contexts. Their involvement helps ensure that project activities reflect local realities and respond effectively to the needs of participating schools and their surrounding communities.
Working closely with national authorities, schools and other stakeholders, the NCFs will coordinate activities at the country level and support the assessment of participating schools. They will also help guide the establishment of ecological and climate-resilient school gardens, strengthen project communication and visibility, and contribute to the implementation of the Garden-to-Lunch competition.
As the project progresses, the NCFs will serve as an important link among the regional project team, national partners and participating schools. This collaborative approach will support consistent project delivery while allowing activities to be tailored to the circumstances and priorities of each country.
Through strong partnerships, shared action and local expertise, the EU-CaN Cultivating Futures Project is creating meaningful opportunities for students to learn about sustainable agriculture, resilient food systems and healthy nutrition. The work of the NCFs will contribute to stronger school communities and a more sustainable, food-secure future for young people across the Windward Islands.
