Technical Expert – Ecological School Gardens & Climate-Smart Agriculture
The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Zero Hunger Trust Fund (ZHTF) is inviting proposals from qualified consultants for the position of Technical Expert under the regional initiative EU-CaN Cultivating Futures – Empowering Youths for a Food Secure Region.
This regional consultancy will support the design, implementation and strengthening of ecogolical school gardens and climate-smart agriculture interventions across St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica, Saint Lucia and Grenada.
The successful consultant will provide technical leadership and capacity-building support to:
- establish resilient and sustainable school gardens
- strengthen Garden-to-Lunch integration
- support climate-smart agricultural practices
- develop technical training resources
- and contribute to regional knowledge-sharing and sustainability planning
The consultancy forms part of a broader effort to strengthen food security, nutrition, climate resilience, and youth engagement through sustainable school-based food systems.
Key Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- A degree in Agronomy, Sustainable Agriculture, Food Science, Environmental Science, Education for Sustainable Development, or related field
- At least seven (7) years of relevant experience in climate-smart agriculture, agroecology, ecological farming, or school garden initiatives
- Demonstrated experience in training and stakeholder capacity building
- Experience working with schools, youth programmes, or regional development initiatives is highly desirable
Consultancy Details
This consultancy will be a regional assignment that covers St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica, Saint Lucia and Grenada. Duration will be 12 months, with approximately 110 working days.
